The Yuzu Crate
Looking for a gift with a difference for an adventurous gardener or passionate cook?
How about a Yuzu tree? The most well-known of all the Japanese citrus fruits, Yuzu has a unique and delicious flavour that’s been described as a cross between grapefruit and mandarin. Combined with a wonderfully aromatic peel that is perfect for zesting, this multi-tasking little fruit is ideal for using in dressings, drizzles, marinades and preserves, making it a much-loved ingredient in many kitchens.
Yuzu trees will happily grow in the UK, despite our somewhat unpredictable climate They will flower in the spring followed by the fruit which ripens slowly and is usually ready to harvest between October and November. We recommend growing your Yuzu tree in a pot indoors in a warm and sunny spot. During the warm summer months, they can be moved outside for a little holiday, and brought back indoors as soon as autumn appears.
Each Yuzu tree is carefully wrapped in hessian and packed in wood wool inside a handsome wooden crate for delivery.
